If I Was a Poet

If I was a poet,
I’d write the world back right.
Using but my mighty pen
I’d put up quite a fight.
If I had some paper
I’d show what I could do,
Make great words into sentences,
Create literature anew.
If I had a head of thoughts,
I’d take the world by storm,
Fill a book with insanity
Defy the social norm.
All I have is patience,
A book of William’s prose,
But someday I’ll be something else-
A bud turned to a rose.
