Grab the mic
We hear out in the world today, that our words aren't worth listening to
But everyday we have great words to say, and they could even imply to you
We speak what we learn
So go ahead don't let us speak but I know we'll get our turn
Give me a mic or I'll take one
And keep everyone off until I'm done
There's a lot to be said
But holding me back could make people dead
So you let me speak and now I'm shakin'
Thinking about the decisions the government is makin'
People going crazy, kids being lazy
Now they really young poppin' up with babies
Girls become prego
Because they said yes instead of no or let themselves go
Car accidents happening not from drinking but because of texting
And there's even teens doing "sexting"
Rappers saying it's far from "over" and "In love wit' ya booty"
But it aint love, you gotta think "They just wanna do me"
I said my words now say yours
Because you won't always have open doors, to speak out
Grab the mic and tell the people what the world's really about
I pass the mic to you
"So what are you going to do?"
