Now I Know The Truth

By , Bridgewater, MA
You never cared, did you?
You wanted me just because I was there.
It couldn't have possibly been because you liked me.
Everyone knew we were an odd pair.

You never cared, did you?
You know it was all an act.
It was fear of being alone
Overpowering all that I lacked.

You never cared, did you?
You must have felt guilty for your lies.
It was not immediate love.
This tale led to our own demise.

You never cared, did you?
You never even understood me.
It was all just so you could be loved
The real me was something you could never see.

You never cared, did you?
You quickly got over me and went onto someone new.
It would have taken more time
Had your love really been true.

You still don't care, do you?
Because now that you know,
I only feel ignored.
If you were concerned, that would show.
