There are times in this world where we feel alone
Cold and tired and aching for home
You know you should stop, your mind tells you its true
But your heart holds you in place, sempiternal glue

I know I should leave you to your own
The way you've left me, no regret in your tone
Yet somehow I still yearn to fight
To aid you in your endless plight
Though you may tear me to bits
And then away you will flit
Me left in the dark afresh
Another bit of my heart you cut from my flesh

It is terror that keeps me here
Horror mingling with tear
I want to lose you though I love you, I do
If it will free me from this curse
But I haven't the courage instead confiding in verse
Praying that you will let me go first

"Truth is, everybody is going to hurt you; you just gotta find the ones worth suffering for." -Bob Marley
Hurt is who we are. It defines who we will become. You've either had to little, too much, or just enough. Pray for the best, and love who inspires the hurt, for if they truly sting your heart, then you will know they're worth fighting for.
