hollow
i happened upon a small wooden tree;
it took me aback with its vivacity
in that it lived so contently, carefree,
in harmony with the world, the sea
of terrors that could possibly
ensue.
i am quite sure now that i am not
that strong, made of anything as strong
as wood; i'd fashion a star and a moon
to string across the top of my room
to keep from feeling this pain,
that through all events,
remains.
