reality is harsh

People surround me
But no one compares
I talk to friends
But no one listens
I take a place in line
But my number is never called
I feel I am secluded
But my back stands wide open
I feel like a piece
But the truth is it’s the wrong puzzle
You look for a window
But there is no escape

They say I love you
But the void is not filled
I get built up
But the bricks crumble down
I look into their eyes
I see their backs
Reality is harsh when
People surround you
