I imagine a remix of my life’s song,
Various moments cut short and others made long.
Tragedies skipped while dreams repeat,
Enjoying a time when all is sweet.
If I could remix my life’s song.

Which parts of my childhood would I live again?
Hugging my grandmother like way back when.
Strawberry nightgown, Barnie, and Rice Krispies galore,
These blissful memories leave me longing for more.
If I could remix my life’s song.

Which minutes of time would I elongate?
Sunny days laughing and staying up late.
Spending my time with family and friends,
Hoping to be with them until the end.
If I could remix my life’s song.

Which experiences in life would I hurry through?
My brothers leaving all that they knew.
Off to college with a sad goodbye,
When they leave I always cry.
If I could remix my life’s song.

Which part of my life is the chorus or theme?
Everything that happens in the school scene.
I always study and try my best,
Because it’s important to pass each test.
If I could remix my life’s song.

Which measures of my song are quiet and low?
Days that are peaceful and relaxingly slow.
Listening to the calming beat of rain,
As it pours down on my window pane.
If I could remix my life’s song.

Which part of my journey is the climax?
When high school ends I can relax.
Starting a life with a future that’s bright,
As I make sure to choose the right.
If I could remix my life’s song.

My life is really an amazing tune,
At times I want it to change soon.
I may make mistakes and do things wrong,
But why would I ever remix my life’s song?
I’m happy just the way I am.
