Harsh World
Lying in the grass as the hours pass;
Listening to the way the Earth revolves
Around itself.
Guidance is all I ask for in this harsh world;
A little idea I can ponder for a while
To mute the ticking of the Earth's clock.
Just to look up at the stars,
Gives me hope that there is more to life
Than the routine we go through everyday.
If I count all these flickering lights in the air,
Who's to know?
Who's to care?
All in all, nothing would know
Except for the things that gave me the idea
To keep continuing on.
