Maiden Godess

By , Washington Crossing, PA
In the woods of Artemis,
The deer run,
On shines the sun
Of Apollo

The trees are hollow,
With nests for an owl.
There is nothing foul
But men.

Not a single Barbi Ken
Is held by huntresses.
Out of feathers are woven the dresses
Of Artemis.

Wild girls of bliss
Run free with bows,
Fighting foes
Like Kampe.
In the woods of Artemis.
