Forever Constant
Our hearts are bound
with the chains that hold us back,
that leave us ripping the bricks
out of the dungeon wall.
We see everything through haze,
like we are even blinded from
what we know.
We are lost in this wonderland,
with a clogged looking glass,
where creatures of the dark
will swallow us whole.
We are constantly capsizing
in the middle of the rapids.
Constantly falling
off bridges into the alligator infested
waters.
We constantly never make it
to the other side.
And yet with broken limbs
and battered bones,
we are constantly surviving.
