Ode to Writing Songs

This heart is on paper
Secrets screaming out loud
Taking rhyme, it’s mine
The melody profound.
Confronting the stress
With each note on these strings
Every pluck, strum, and chord
Every lyric it brings.
This morning I had nothing
Now written as belongs.
No longer in mind
I now have a song.

Being a guitar player myself, I thought this poem expressed what I feel when writing music.
