Sea for myself
Standing
studying
stalling
Lingering on the edge
Between safety and uncertainty
Toes dangle
Tingling and vulnerable
Time slows
My sea of consciousness becomes polluted
with murky thoughts
that crash together
As waves crash into a tide pool
Sand stirred with water
A whirlpool of thoughts
Logic over impulse
Secure over exposed
If only I could test the water
to see what lies beneath
the waveless mirror
Before I anchor my thoughts
the body takes control over mind
loose air wraps around me
Only now does my mind come to realize
that there is no way to reverse gravity
Descending downward
Dropping
Closer
I can only imagine the consequences
of this daring dive
But I surmise
that very soon
I shall sea for myself
