Favorite Quote:
"It's not about the years in your life. It's about the life in your years."

A setting, bronze sun,
Rested atop,
The vast, rippling horizon of grass,
As I gazed forward,
My eyes transfixed,
Upon that vast horizon,
For my heart awaited,
Awaited for a figure,
To materialize
Upon that vast horizon.
Long had I waited,
Oh so long,
For my skin whimpered,
Weathered by the elements,
And my throat groaned in agony,
Deprived of sweet water for,
Oh so long,
But no,
I would no, could not,
Abandon
My solitary waiting post,
For the sheer contentment
That manifested within me,
In your presence,
Teased me
And day after day,
Your smile haunted me,
That I desperately
Held onto,
The memory
Of our happiness,
In union,
Lived on,
Kindling an eternal hope
Cemented within my soul,
That chained me,
To this waiting post,
That numbed my pain,
And the lamentations,
Of rationality,
That chained me,
To this waiting post,
For oh so long,
And so I waited,
Waited,
For oh so long,
Waited,
For it was all I could do.

The author's comments:
One night I awaited a good friend of mine and my secret affection for dinner. However, a misunderstanding had occured, and my friend would never come. That night, I expressed my sadness over the matter and my inner feelings in a poem. I painted the colors of my feelings with my own diction and utilized a dramatic scene to enhance and augment the poem's beauty.
