There. Right there.
Do you see it?
Do you feel it
charging at the barriers of your mind?
Do you feel the quickening pulse of your heart,
the anxiety when it can’t break through?

I do.

Do you feel,
as I do,
the gentle thrumming
against your mind
as it becomes
more incessant.

And then –
Pelting of colors, neon green, grass on a golf course, red, maroon, dripping blood, yellow, burning, shrinking, shriveling, circles, drums, shadows, youth, pain, fear, anger, closer, coming closer, moving so quickly that nothing can be caught no matter how hard you try. Grasping, gasping, closing in around you, suffocating, choking…

Panic.
Do you feel it?
Do you reach blindly,
searching,
fingers finding nothing to grasp onto?

But there’s just… white.
Just nothing…
Everything…

Blank.
