Solitude

I am indeed alone.
I sit solitary, waiting.
What I wait for, I do not know.
Alone I sit.

I sit solitary, waiting.
The rain pours and time passes.
Alone I sit:
I feel as if motion is beyond me.

The rain pours and time passes
The clouds gather
I feel as if motion is beyond me
And my solitude becomes my enemy.

The clouds gather
The thunder sounds, the lightning flashes
And my solitude becomes my enemy
As I wait here, alone.

The thunder sounds, the lightning flashes
What I wait for, I do not know
As I wait here, alone—
I am indeed alone.
