Your round shape
against the black blue sky
Rising from behind the mountains
at a very fast pace
Your shining magnificence
lights the valley floor
Shadowing the trees and bushes
bringing them to life
The creatures of the night
praise you in unison
As you light their
way in the dark
This night you are so close
I feel as if I can touch you
If I could, how would you feel?
cold like ice, I imagine
I hope you are never lonely
in your quiet observance of the masses
We honor your presence
you’re the beauty in the night.
