I am from the spacious home in which I was raised,
From crying for no reason and crying because of laughter,
I am from my purple room with posters galore,
From hot air balloons and video games,
I am from Harry and Tim, my dog and my big brother,
From sleepovers at Goggi's and Thanksgiving dinner,
I am from Children's Hospitals and medicine,
From riding bikes and falling down,
Like everything in my messy bedside table drawer,
My memories sit waiting for me.

I am from piano playing and clarinet lessons,
From swimming in my pool and playing basketball outside,
I am from lthe melting pot that is Poland, Ireland, Italy, Russia, England, etc,
From listening to my iPod and playing games on the computer,
I am from my Mom whom I resemble in more ways than one,
From "Goodnight Moon" and "The Bear Climbed Over the Mountain",
I am from long car drives and cheeseburgers with nothing on them,
From the smell of the ocean, crossing the Driscoll Bridge,
Like everything in my messy bedside table drawer,
My memories sit waiting for me.

I am from my seven best friends and laughing until no breath will come,
From watching National Geographic with my Dad and learning to fly a kite,
I am from the day my brother left for college and I cried for half an hour,
From softball practices and melted ice-pops,
I am from playing Ping-Pong in my basement and birthday parties,
From new friends and sad goodbyes,
I am from taking care of my friends and family, and inside jokes with my best friends,
From poor eyesight and crooked teeth,
Like the drawer to my newly cleaned bedside table,
My memories are open, fresh in my mind.
