Nurse filled cubicles
Line the gym wall
Chairs sit in rows
A circle of beds near by
Nurse to donor and donor to bed
A swab that stains the skin yellow
Followed by a prick and a flow of scarlet red
Blood trickles into the bag as
Cookies dance on the donor’s mind
Arm elevated to the sky
And three more lives will survive

The author's comments:
I was inspired by a blood drive that I worked for National Honor Society. I hope that when people read this they will be motivated to go out and give blood so they too can save three more lives.
