Past and Present
I am from small toy soliders and video games
From a little gray house and unusual neighbors./
I am from a run down shed and loud power tools
From gasoline smells and many extension cords./
I am from strange shape pools and children swimming
From children's floaties and pool toys./
Imagination runs wild in the mind of a child,
Secrets unimaginable and dreams unthinkable./
I am from tricks and pranks
From troublemaking and punishments./
I am from travel and adventure
From new places and people./
I am from time and mystery
From secrets and rumors./
The rumors that spread far and wide,
stretching and expanding in size./
Both horrid and enjoyable memories,/
stalking the deepest corners of the mind,/
haunted with these old memories,/
I think of the good times./
