Your Dream
I once had a peculiar dream.
Everything was worthless,
So nothing was worth fighting for.
Everyone was ugly,
So we could laugh about it.
Everyone knew everyone else,
So there was no need for unkindness.
Everyone understood each other,
And we embraced in the sun.
Everyone knew that we couldn’t know the truth,
So they didn’t really care much to find it.
We found beauty everywhere.
We worked when we needed to.
We were close in the cold,
Lazy in the summer,
And I didn’t want to go back.
But I did.
I told everyone.
Everyone said it wouldn’t happen.
I don’t know
Why not?
