I Am A Child
I am a child.
I am like the joy of a new flower in springtime.
I resemble in body a free child.
I resemble in spirit the child who could.
I imagine the joy of running through flowers with friends.
I care about everyone around me because that’s how I am.
I am a child.
I will be a grown-up someday, but hopefully not too soon.
I can fulfill my dreams.
I cannot fulfill them all at once.
I am a child.
I want to be the best.
I often say I can’t.
I have heard others say I can.
I want to believe that is true.
I know I can do better.
I regret saying I can’t.
I am a child.
