Your Monster

There is a part of your mind I will slay
It is this part I hope you will willingly stray
But if you cannot I will pick up my sword
And with my blade your ignorance will be gore

You have a monster growing from under your hair
And yet to all of this you are unaware
The monster twists and shouts and raves and screams
It insults those like me with its worn out themes

The monster looks out from your eyes and spies my form
It erupts from your skull, only to leave you comatose and forlorn
It controls all of your thoughts and all of your actions
As it attempts to split up humanity into warring factions

The beast clenches its fist and tries to deliver a blow
I dodge and strike, and from its severed arm black smoke does billow
Next it attacks from the left in its vain attempts to succeed
But I strike at that arm, and you are almost freed

Unable to attack, the monster screams and spits
I drive with my blade and smoke pours out of the violent slits
I make the final move as I severe its head
And you stand there redeemed with your monster dead.
