dont say you love someone unless you mean it.- me

They sit there
sick and full of pain
breathing machine pumping
heart-beat monitor beeping
not so full of life but still there
eyes shoot open
take one more breath
grip your hand tightly
and the last breath slips and they fall back, back to a better place.

Boredom instigates extreme creativity.

"Bowing gratefully to all of my subjects, 'thank you. Thank you. The pleasure is mine." Nah, I'm just kidding. We're all kings together.'"

Interesting, this is very imaginative, and the imagery it creates within my mind is very vivid. Lovely talent, robf8.

Congratulations on getting published, you deserve it.

"il piu nell' uno," (according to Emerson, an Italian expression for beauty)

"Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality" ~Emily Dickinson

"The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain"

This is a great poem! It's very depressing up until the last two lines, where it seems that mercy is being granted. You demonstrate the sad end of such a life, and you also display wisdom by saying they 'fall back, back to a better place.'
