sometimes i just sit
and think of words that ryme
one of my hobbies
i use to pass the time
i write of love and hate
and of the people i love
i write about animals
and birds like the dove
it really isnt easy
to put feelings into words
describe the sound of wings
of a fleeing flock of birds
mostly i write about nature
and how it speaks to me
of the singing from the wind
or the whispering of the trees
i really did write this
the poem that you hear
my talent is a discovery
i just learned last year
and just to show you proof
ill talk about 2 beavers
one who has ninja skills
and one theodore cleaver
theodore cleaver is a character
played in leave it to beaver
who gets into trouble
and occassionaly fakes a fever
im sure instead of writing poetry
youd rather burn your pants
but its not all that bad
you have to give it a chance
its a way to express your thoughts
and share them with your class
in high school its important
and i know you want to pass
poetry is an art
that deserves to be heard
just because you love it
doesnt make you a nerd
it doesnt have to ryme
or talk about nice things
it can be about depression
or sonics onion rings
just exress your feelings
and write down your thoughts
let your words flow over
like a boiling pot
so open up your ears
and clear up your mind
and maybe in poetry
an interest you will find
