The life is unseen
where dreams have been;
the collage of life-
where there is no strife
to come between me and you.
Mysteries and fantasies,
scholars and empties
of life and love;
of push and shove.
Enemies and the unforeseen-
make you keen;
in this land of shadows;
where sorrow lies.
In this land where we are free;
where everything is fuzzy-
where we live,
where we die,
in this land of where shadows
never lie.

The author's comments:
I wrote this not long after we had a student in school pass away. It was shocking because she had just been fine the day before in school, and quite a lot of us were devastated. I didn't submit it at the time because I wasn't very pleased with it, but now that I look, I see that it's very true about the land of shadows where she's gone.
