It awakens—
Emerges from its aphotic hiding place
Emitting beams of light…
Beginning with red which slowly fades into orange
Then light yellow—
A wake-up call to creation.
Inducing its trek through the sky,
Illuminating all.
Soon reaches the peak—
Casting invisible shadows…
Thus commencing its descent.
Abstracted by wondrous clouds
Creating moments of monotonous wonder.
The teams have been established!
Which shall win this contest?
A contest of perplexity.
It becomes apparent—
Materializing into view—
Having escaped the downy clutches of supreme magnificence
It continues on its decline,
Evolving into blinding intensity.
Fire in the sky—
Flames of pink, red, orange
Blended together…
Brilliant against the dark blue canvas!
Searing the heavens—
A majestic masterpiece!
Quickly receding—
Meeting the endless horizon
With an impetuous farewell.
Ending…
Only to be reborn
On the other side.

I have always been fascinated by the sun. Sunsets and sunrises stop me dead in my tracks. The beauty of it all is breath taking.
