Alone she stands
Staring into the horizon
Watching the sunset fade
Its rays kissing the Earth goodnight
Alone he stands
Looking at the stars
Gazing at the moon
And listening to the rain
They face the world all alone
Invisible to the eyes of those
Who are too blind to see
The horrors that infect this world
Man, woman, and child alike
Face the bitter winter midnight chill
Until one of them draws their last breath
Never to wake again
Alone we stand
Struggling to survive another day
Until life is snatched away from us
The only witness is the stars
