i smooth my hair
i paint my face


just to fit the part


i play those games

i do those things


just to have those “friends”


i ask my parents for the newest cell




i ask for extra money
just to be everyone else

i drink that drink
i take that drug
just to be accepted

i skip that dinner
i skip that class
just to hang with that guy

just to, just to
that’s all i ever do
maybe someday i’ll do
what i want to
