Susan's education began the day
She discovered she had breasts.
Baby girl-woman was seventeen.
It was a pink day.
Back of the tongue mauve.
A day with dew on the ground
And birds in the trees.
A day with damp earthy smells,
And lights from cars.
That day she was mother nature.
If only for a few hours.
Her education was the type learned
From knocking eggs out of a nest.
A satisfaction coupled with guilt.
And paired with malice.
The scent of life, like egg yolks and white.
