Fairytales Exist in Only Nightmares
And though you'd begged me to stream moonbeams into your pupils, I couldn't just leave you there lying all alone amongst the hilly fields of your kingdom.
I drew up my skirts and sat down beside you, watching your ax gleam in the breeze as glimmering droplets blotted the grass until the silence was broken.
You'd asked me if the strown remains of the tiny villages below were proof of your victory or yet another mistake to add under your conscience of ruling.
Before the praise could escape my lips, the sky contrasted upon your smile as the ground beneath us shook so violently, splinters of cool earth were shot to the heavens.
Second chances and fairytales were lit ablaze by the sins that burned alive the innocence that had once taken residence in your eyes of steel blue fury.
