Number 1
A pristine skeleton
Pure and crystalline against the grey October silk
Beckoning insanity
Offering beauty.
Parchment stretched across a frame of steel,
Ground for words,
Blood-borne reminder.
Permission forgotten,
Childhood stolen.
Gossamer wrapped about my heart
Makeshift blanket
Failing in the frost.
Glass at my feet
Serenading stupidity in shades of green and brown.
The Northern wind stinging with another's song,
Carrying nothing but cold
And the stark honesty of winter.
