My Midnight
Not a sound
from the sidewalk.
It’s just me
and the moon.
She’s smiling alone in the
bright
air.
The withered leaves
run around at my feet,
as I dance in the air.
I am all alone
and can do what I like,
because it’s midnight,
only the moon is still watching me.
The wind begins to moan,
as midnight turns to day.
I must wait for the sunrise,
I will not be alone again.
I must look ahead for a new life,
a new day will begin.
But then midnight will come,
and I am all alone again.
Except there is still someone,
someone still watching me.
It is just me and the moon.
