(I was her friend)

The feeling I had inside me made me want to die inside
I cried my eyes out
It was as if the whole world was crumbling down
As if every bone, piece of skin, and flesh were melting until there was a puddle of tears

(We were best friends, we got in a fight, she tried to talk to me, I ignored her)

I was devastated
My phone was screaming for me to answer it
It told me the news
Not my parents
Not my friends
But someone I had nothing to do with told me

(I ignored her)

It hurts
Knowing that people who go to my school
That wave at me when they pass by
The people who looks os happy
Are just dying inside

(She reached out to me)

She killed herself as if the pills danced down her throat
As if the alcohol poured itself in her mouth
So easily she did it
Without a thought passing through her mind

She was the next statistic
The next tally going under the list of teen suicides
She would be the front page of tomorrows newspaper

(She was my friend, I ignored her)

No one knows why she did it
No one realized they could have been the reason

(Ignored her call for help)

She was hurting inside
On the outside she had a disguise just like a little kid on Halloween
She had a mask
One so perfectly created to hide fear, hurt, and betrayal on the inside
Her mind was set, she was going to do it
But her heart was screaming for help
No one heard it
They just kept walking by
Ignoring the screams

It’s over
Any hope for help, over.
Any second chance
Over.

She killed herself
As if the pills danced down her throat
As if the alcohol poured itself in her mouth
So easily she did it
Without a thought
Passing through her mind

(I ignored her)
