Unfocused

The blur of lights.

The drumming drops of water
on the glass.

I'm unable to concentrate on what lies in front of me.
Headlights zoom past me,

going in the opposite direction.
Darkness envelops the details of my deep blue car.

A tear drop falls feelinglessly as I glide along the road,

Its almost as if I am flying.

I drive fast,
unaware of where I will end up.

My subconscious grabs hold of the wheel and leads me to my destination.
I am here,

I am safe.

Safe from the reality that haunts me.

Safe from my past.
