tonight I cry myself to sleep
because all I can do is sit and weep
everything just came and went
and all of my free time was spent
reading this eternal tome
of how to get myself back home
but I can’t stop singing the blues
I don’t have the magic ruby shoes
to take me to a land where fear
can just vanish, poof, disappear
I’m just stuck in my own life
which doesn’t seem to be going right
so I guess I’ll just have to try harder
cause I don’t want to be a martyr
for the dying cause, no one will care
if I leave here, to go up there
