Theme for Honors English 10
We can be one, but we're so diverse
We're as diverse as the Earth and our very star.
Can we be as bright as that star?
Can we fight what we grieve or held back?
What are you to the world?
What am I?
I've learned and grew so much, though it seemed like the past 15 years, 4 months, 20 days, 13 hours, and 22 minutes are for nothing.
I ran, waited, heard, felt as though I was freed from this world In the end, by heart's caged.
Was everything that I've done, worth what I'm doing right now?
How would you take it once your eyes gazed upon the last word? letter? period?
I've been pitied enough, ignored for so long, but why am
I still alive?
What shapes me?
I'm asian, but not the kind you think I am.
I can be your best friend, your enemy, your equal.
I can help you, love you, destroy you.
I can be your only key, so don't lose me.
Many have lost me, Few have regained me, Few have found me.
So what am I to this world?
What are you?
The star that shines bring?
The one who closes gaps?
You are one.
