Half the world lies down to rest,
the other waking up
I reside in both tonight
as I sit in purple twilight
Birds are still,
their prey celebrates in staggered jubliee
Crickets resume their ever-song,
a code of rhythmic, hidden wings
The peeper chorus erupts,
enchants the air with tuneful bliss
Bullfrogs sing their rich lament
beside the constant pool.
Beneath the stars and lonely lights
timid moths dance their ballet
Fireflies woo their mates
in glowing flares of yellow-green
and maples whisper lullabies
to baby chickadees
Still, I sit, and soak it in-
this lovely Summer Night

The author's comments:
Summer nights are so beautiful and awe-inspiring. When the peepers come out I like to just go out and listen. It's a whole new world. It is just a lovely, soothing time that reminds me that there are good things in life. We just have to listen.

Your work is tasty. It fills my mind with textured pics. seems a lil random, not going anywhere. but good.
