As I lie here, awake
I listen to the steady ticking and tocking of the clock
I wonder how much time has passed?
It feels like hours.
I wonder what my friends are dreaming..
I wonder what dreams will come
When I slip into the world of sleep.
Tick, tock, tick, tock.
I stare at the stars in the sky.
I wonder what it’s like to live among them…
I wonder…
Where’d my time go?
Why didn’t I sleep?
I wonder this, as the sun cuts through the night
As my father enters and tells me to get ready for school.
Time to make up another story about my newest, strangest dream yet.
I’ve never slept before.
