The author's comments:
This piece was written to address the eating disorder that I have that society itself has. There is this stigma that we all must be thin to be pretty or to even be accepted. Who do we blame for this the media, society, or ourselves for the way that we let other people and even things like magazines influence us and how we act and how we look at ourselves.

Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.

I understand completely. I was a cross-country runner and I'm bulimic as well. Good work.
