Sticks and Stones
You know the saying:
"Sticks and stones...
Words will never hurt me."
I just wanna tell you,
thats a loada crap.
Words are your strongest weapon.
Words can wound you
where you cant put a band-aid.
Words can make you insecure.
Words can tare you down.
Words have that power
to hurt you so much more
than most any physical attack.
Words have the power to murder,
and owrst to make you suffer.
Wounds may heal with time, if they dont kill you.
Words can be healed too,
but they have the power
to do so much worse.
Death is an easy escape.
But words...words
can hurt you
until after so long
you wish for it.
So, sticks and stones
may brake my bones,
but word can ALWAYS hurt me.
Yet, at the same time...
Words can inspire you.
Words can impower you.
words can move you.
Words can save you.
Words can change the world
in a way that weapons never could.
Words are your past,
your present,
and your hope for the future.
Words are like a sharp knife,
stuck by its point on a table.
Always hovering dangerously
to one side or the other
and it's really up to you
which way it falls.
