Faith is being sure of what you hope for, and certian of what we do not see.

A little girl sits in the living room,
On her black leather couch.
She watches as her daddy leaves to room to the bathroom.
She stares at the flickering light under the door.
The TV’s on and the cartoons are playing.
She’s getting hungry,
And there’s no food.
She has to use the bathroom
And begs her daddy to let her in,
But she gets no reply.

Hours pass,
And daddy’s still in bathroom.
Her stomach growls like the monster in her closet.
Another night she goes to bed hungry.

Now you sit here,
And you can imagine the life this little girl lives,
But can you feel it?
Can you feel the pain this little girl feels?
Can you see her face as her dad,
Her hero,
Sits in the bathroom all night,
Pays hundreds of dollars a night,
To support his habit,
Instead of his daughter.
The daughter that he was left to care for after her mother left them for a man who was better, and had more money.
As this little girl grows up,
You wonder,
Will she be strong?
Can she be strong?
Will she follow in her father’s footsteps?
Or will she learn from his mistakes?

Some people say they have it hard,
Because they’re parents grounded them for being out late.
They say they’re parents hate them,
And just want to make their lives miserable.
But what these kids don’t realize is,
Their parents are there,
And are only trying to make they’re lives the best it can be.
But what they don’t realize is
This little girl has no one.
When her daddy’s sober,
He sits on the couch and watches TV.
She’s not allowed to play outside on the nice sunny days,
She can’t have friends over.
She wares the same clothes everyday,
And doesn’t have the money to go see the latest movies.

What some can’t see
Is that this little girl will grow up without a mother,
And when her mother is around,
She’ll be too busy at the bar.
When she comes home,
She’ll say “Say hello to your new daddy”
She’ll stager and fall,
And this little girl,
No older than twelve,
Will have to help her mother into her bed for the night.

What some can’t see,
Is this little girl is her own person.
A girl to be judged because of her parents mistakes.

When she grows up,
She will find love,
And a new hope.
And one day she will have her own family,
A family that she can teach .
A family where she can make her own mistakes,
And only she will have to learn from about them.

What some can’t see,
Is the little girl,
Will one day grow up,
And be strong and independent.

She will never have to worry about going hungry aging.
Never worry about seeing her fathers grey eyes as he is high.

What people can’t see is,
This little girl,
Is the most amazing girl you will ever meet.
