The Land Built of Candy
Dear friend, dear baker,
think
Of all the blessings we could drink
And the lives that we could live together free from alert,
If we embarked today
To Candyland away
Where terrain reminds me oft’ of you, there in landscapes of lush dessert.
Candy canes and lollipops,
Cotton candy, gumdrops,
All the sweet ones and the tart,
They bring joy to me
As does our personality
That springs from your generous heart.
We could live in the midst of candies and bananas,
Colors, flavors, and aromas.
Graham crackers serve as streets
Which are lined with many treats
Such as ice cream cones topped with cherries.
Paths of peppermint are made
To lead to waterfalls of luscious lemonade
That cascade down onto rocks of chocolate covered strawberries.
Banana bread’s rich scent
Is there so Heaven sent.
Residence is made in gingerbread houses-
Everything gives happiness
And there is no sadness
For fun is forever in this land that gives and blesses.
We could live in the midst of candies and bananas,
Colors, flavors, and aromas.
