Flight
Why is it easier to speak in rhyme?
To give a rhythm to words
a tempo to thoughts,
That are otherwise incongruent?
What is it that makes
condensing feelings
onto pages
simple and more clear than
expressing emotions to faces?
How is it possible that
acrostics and sonnets
and slant, end, sight
give me meaning
and this free verse
gives me
the freedom of flight?
