The American Teen
I remember when I lost that thing
My life was almost over
Then every thing I gave my heart to
Punched me in the face
And the streets knew I lost some love
They stared and started rumors
Of how a girl bled red the roads
And gave herself no future
Pain knew not her story
For many had the same
Tales and tales and tales
Followed her even in her dreams
Long lost was her innocence
That which history deemed verbose
Because all around me I hear
Love never present lost
And naivety curses most
