This Is Me
I am the red of the hottest fire and
The sound of the softest piano key
I can snarl like the purr of a Camaro’s engine

Or hum the soft melody from a mother’s mouth
I provide the comfort of a soft warm bed

Or the piercing cold of a blizzard
I am the beauty of the ocean and
The boldness of lightning going wherever it pleases
I can shine as bright as any star in space or

I can hide as well as a spider in the crack of a door
I am capable of capturing whatever I want

And losing it all in a single choice
I chose to be as rebellious as a 6” stiletto but

Choose to be as obedient as nature is to the seasons
I let go of the past and create the future as well as

Remember the memories I’ve had and dream for tomorrow
I will be what He wants me to be

And will stop doing what he wants me to do
I am scared that I will fail again and

 Disappoint the ones I love
I am hoping for the strength to do what’s right

And praying for the courage to stand up for what I believe in
 I thought I couldn’t, I know I can
