Snowboarding
“Ahhhhh!”
“Woooo!”
The crowd goes wild.
You stand at the top of the mountain,
waiting to propel,
you and the snowboard under you,
down.
You have waited four years for this moment.
Your coach stands next to you,
giving you final words.
The buzzer goes off,
and suddenly the wind is in your face.
The slightest shift of weight
can change your direction.
The jump is in sight.
You stay focused,
and don’t let anything get in your way.
You prepare for the jump by bending you knees.
Immediately, you’re up in the air.
Then you come back to reality,
and land in four feet of snow in your backyard.
Some things are great doing at home,
but you are always allowed to dream.
