What's the point of waking from dreams,
If all you see when you rise is a nightmare?
There is so much life,
But ,nothing to live for.
A planet steadily growing warmer,
But, it's people grow colder.
A world illuminated by the brightest of lights,
Yet, slowly descendeing into a malevolent darkness.
How can we dictate laws and rules,
When the lawmakers defy their own commandments?
Why preach compassion,
If those who preach aren't compassionate?
There are so many cures,
But, the world only grows sicker.
Not with ravashing bacteria,
But, with egocentric ignorance.
You say give it all we've got.
But is there really anything left to give?
Love is strong word.
Hate is it's equal.
But, lately it seems the later has conquered the hearts of humanity.
We are the bain of our own existence.
Soon, to be consumed by the things we feared to become.
We're not only destroying our planet.
We're destroying our future,
Destroying each other,
And the ever important focus of this egocentric society:
We're destroying ourselves.
