Wildfire
My desires feel like wildfire,
crackling through a dry forest.
Unforgettable and unpredictable,
my hearts sings a beautiful chorus.
I yearn for something more,
a place beyond my security.
Something small, something vast,
something dipped in purity.
I yearn for something treacherous,
a danger to the heart.
A song, a breath, a love, a laugh,
I’m not sure how to start.
I yearn for something beautiful,
a snowfall in the night.
Peaceful in the dark,
and still sparkles in the light.
My desires feel like wildfire,
Throughout my heart they burn.
I dream of something more,
But I can only yearn.
