The Eye of the Storm
Wind whishing, water wailing,
Their lives destroyed in seconds,
Washed away like the sand on a beach.
Windows breaking, glass shattering,
Trees lifted out of the soil
As if they were mere paper
And then the calm came,
The eye of the storm,
Relief and happiness filled their souls.
They walked outside,
Surveyed the damage,
If only they realized it was just,
The eye of the storm.
For it will come back,
More aggressive than ever,
And destroy their lives once more.
Because this is just the eye of the storm.
