3 O'clock Sun
The sun is high
lounging back beating softly
on this verdant high-rise of life,
this lovely hill, living still
to the murmur of its own silence,
tinted gold with 3 O’clock sun
it undulates, incandescent, incessant
its beauty endures the plaster stucco
surrounding it,
the trees, swaying fondly tipping their
blossomed caps to a breeze blown firm,
now and anon these trees shudder sweetly,
smiles welcome me,
high blades hugged and the
afternoon kiss shadowed them just so
as they, corpulent, caught a rhythm
with gusts jade and gentle,
so lush, so right in its squat
I stand upon it, quiet…
while it vociferates, slightly sedated its
absolutely gorgeous self,
and at that moment
I believed there to be nothing
more pure, more beautiful,
though while I mused,
atop this knoll,
one exception crossed me…
that being Her,
Against sweet winds,
Protruding vibrant,
Shadowed just so,
Tinted brilliant, with 3 O’clock sun
